The Meridian Optimum Pommel Cushion provides comfort and pressure relief to patients spending long periods of time in a wheelchair. Featuring a contoured base and pommel this cushion helps reduce the risk of adduction or internal rotation contracture while limiting forward sliding in the wheelchair. With four grades of foam providing optimum support this cushion offers 3 of cloud-like comfort to those sitting on it. Sized at 18 x 16 x 3 this cushion will fit most standard wheelchairs. The cushion has a weight capacity of 275 lbs. Not just for wheelchairs and to prevent pressure sores this cushion provides comfort support and relief to anyone sitting for long periods of time. Large enough to cushion the entire seating area yet small enough to remain portable and convenient. The pommel also helps separate the knees to reduce skin shear and allow air to circulate. The cover of the cushion is a 4-way stretch polyester/polyurethane combination that repels moisture and features low friction for smooth movement getting in and out of the chair. While the cushion reduces hammocking and protects the wheelchair seat the inner core has a liner to protect the foam.
