As eating is one of life’s great pleasures and a basic human need Obi is a revolutionary dining device for people living with physical challenges. For loved ones or patients suffering from Cerebral Palsy ALS Parkinson’s or any other condition that impairs upper extremity motor control Obi provides an independent dining experience. The spoons are interchangeable with each other and attach to Obi’s arm with magnets. Obi is appropriate for both adults and kids. The plates are microwave safe and the plate placemat and spoons are all dishwasher safe. All foods and liquids are compatible with Obi. However foods need to be prepared and cut into pieces no bigger than 0.75 X 0.75 X 0.75 or smaller. The ideal size is between a pea and a grape. Larger sizes decrease the capture efficiency of the spoons. Obi can deliver food to a maximum height of 15.3 above the mounting surface and a maximum low of 2 below the mounting surface. The device has a maximum reach for food delivery of 16 from the edge of the plate. The Obi is Latex-free and natural rubber free.
